Tomorrow evening – Il-Fjakkolata tax-Xlendi – will take place in Xlendi, reviving an almost forgotten tradition when the rugged coastline of Xlendi will be illuminated with torchlight fires to commemorate the liturgical feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patron saint of Xlendi.
‘l-Fjakkolata tax-Xlendi’ will be held every Saturday evening during the summer between 8.30pm and 12.30am, until Saturday, the 16th of September, organised by the Xlendi Administrative Committee.
The Committee said that everyone is invited to help and add their own torchlights or candles on balconies roofs and terraces! A little hint for balconies, large citronella candles also work perfectly and smell pleasant too!
Visitors to Xlendi tomorrow evening will also be able to enjoy live entertainment by D Capitals Band, starting at 9.00pm.
