On Wednesday, the Sacred Heart Minor Seminary in Victoria, Gozo, inaugurated its newly refurbished school library. Gabriel Attard a student of Year 11 has written a report on the day’s activity which can be read below.
“During this event, some students explained the role of the school librarian and the various important activities organised at the library to encourage students to read and to help introduce them to different types of books and to research.
The library was blessed by the Gozo bishop, H.E. Mgr. Mario Grech. Both the Bishop and the school headmaster Can. Emmanuel Saliba delivered a speech for this occasion, where they stressed the importance of reading and of becoming familiar with the Word of God.
Refreshments prepared by the students of Home Economics and Hospitality with the help of their teachers were served later.
The Headmistresses of the Church Schools in Gozo, as well as several important dignitaries from the Secretariat of Catholic Schools also attended the activity.”
