An online consultation [1] on amendments to the Assessment and Management of Environment Noise Regulations, 2018 is being conducted by the Ministry for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change (MESDC) and the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) and is being held though the assistance of MEUSAC.
They said that the aim of the proposed Assessment and Management of Environment Noise (Amendment) Regulations, 2018, is to transpose the obligations arising from Commission Directive (EU) 2015/996 of May 19, 2015 establishing common noise assessment methods, according to Directive 2002/49/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, as from December 31, 2018. The former Directive replaces Annex II of the original environmental noise Directive 2002/49/EC.
