The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana has expressed her sadness over the death of Gozitan environmentalist and ornithologist, Joe Sultana, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 78.
In a statement, Dr Caruana said that Joe Sultana left behind a tangible heritage in his vast range of writings and studies dealing with various aspects of the rural environment of these islands. “He also remains synonymous with the establishment of nature reserves within our country,” she added.
Minister Justyne Caruana described his memory as a great example of determination and professional research on the understanding of the link between man and the creation around him as well as a man who loved Gozo.
