Two families in Kenya now have water thanks to Gozo students

Last year in April, the Gozo College Middle School Eco-Schools committee members collected a total of €930 from their annual Walk for Water and bake sale.in Victoria ^[1] to commemorate World Water day.

The Committee said it has now received wonderful news from the AKVO organisation in the Netherlands, who organise the events globally, to say that the money collected has been used to buy solar water pumps. Two families in Kenya now have a bright future ahead them. thanks to the generosity of passers-by and the enthusiasm of the students at the school.

These water pumps will ensure enough water to grow their own crops and family members will no longer have to walk long distances to find water each day, which was often dirty – with their children now attending school and being able to study instead.

A very big well done to everyone involved in this initiative.
