Talent + 2019 for children has been held during the summer, organised by Kercem Ajax Football Club in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo
“When we started the children’s programmes for children Talent + we were convinced that it would attract a number of children with different abilities. We can now confirm that the initiative has been successful – so much so, that over the last few years it has attracted hundreds of children from all around Gozo,” said the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana.
The Minister was speaking during the closing event at the Villa Rundle Gardens for this annual summer initiative – where she said, children attended various courses, including educational, sports and various training disciplines, as well as sharing quality time and all planned according to their abilities.
This year the children worked on a programme to understand the challenges of what happens around us, overseas and to themselves, and how even through small actions, to cultivate the value of peace, unity and solidarity.
The training sessions were divided by age and included drama, sports and crafts, as well as sessions to foster in them love and a sense of responsibility towards nature, the environment and animals.
Dr Caruana said that “it is important that our children grow up in a spirit to accept that diversity is the most positive step to help them from a young age to accept their peers as equals with different skills, and learn to work together.”
