Ghar Ilma Hill bathed in candlelight – Symphony of Lights concert this Friday

As the sun went down on Ghar Ilma Hill on Sunday evening, thousands of candles lit up the beautiful Gozitan countryside surrounding the heart of the quaint village of Santa Lucija in Gozo.

This spectacular event – the Fjakkolata – has been taking place in the village for over 30 years, in celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, which falls exactly on the 13th of October.

Visitors from all over the island watched the spectacular scene from St. Lucija Square, enjoying the unique hospitality of this village.

Santa Lucija will also this week be hosting a musical concert – Symphony of Lights – with the St Gregory Band and special guest singers, under the direction of Mro. Mark Gauci, this Friday, the 18th of October, starting at 8.30pm, in the main square.

A spectacular lights and fireworks display will enrich this unique event in one of the oldest Gozitan hamlets.

Everyone invited to attend on Friday evening’s concert, which will be free of charge.

Nestled within rural countryside that dominates the western side of Gozo, Santa Lucija is just a 15 minute walk from Gozo’s capital city, Victoria, and may also be reached by bus number 313 or taxi.
