The MV Nikolaus ferry will be out of service for a month to undergo modifications to make accessibility easier for passengers.
In a statement, the Ministry for Gozo said that the 4th ferry, which joined the Gozo Channel fleet in June this year, will be out of service from Monday, the 11th of November until Thursday, the 12th of December
Side ramps will be installed for passengers to be able to board at the respective terminals of Cirkewwa and Mgarr.
The statement said that these modifications will be carried out at an overseas shipyard as negotiated by the ship owners, who have agreed to carry out these modifications at their own expense.
The MV Nikolaus will then continue to operate the service until the tender process is finalised for a new ship, the Ministry said.
