Inspire has said that children with disabilities may often find themselves easy targets for bullying.
It stressed that the best way to deter such behaviour is to teach all children to embrace differences in one another as well as letting them know how to seek help should they find themselves targets of bullying.
Inspire explained that it wanted to achieve this with the EPIC group children in Gozo, and was done through some anti-bullying activities carried out during a group session – We are all Different.
The Inspire EPIC Skills Programme, which takes place in Gozo and Malta are both available to children on the autism spectrum as well as those with other intellectual disabilities.
It is a year-long programme that supports children to develop personal, social and communication skills.
