The Gozo Regional Carnival has been launched by Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri and will take place between the 21st and 25th of February.
During the launch the Minister explained that the Ministry for Gozo has organised and coordinated various activities for all the family, “as well as helping financially and logistically in order for this feast to be a success.”
This year’s Gozo Regional Carnival will include live links on PBS on Sunday and will be broadcast live on PBS on Monday.
He remarked that the Gozo Regional Carnival has become increasingly popular and is raising more interest in all those involved including participants and visitors.
The Minister encouraged everyone to visit the events and “enjoy Carnival in Gozo while appreciating our talents, the initiatives we take, and the determination we have to improve its organisation from year to year.”
Gozitans, many of them who are volunteers, work on Carnival preparations all year round creating brightly coloured costumes, masks, trailers and dances, in order to provide pleasure and enjoyment for all ages.
Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri concluded by thanking the Committee within the Ministry, that he said, “works diligently throughout the year, as well as hundreds of individuals, organisations, and volunteers that worked hard so that Carnival this year will once again be a successful event.”
