Driving License renewal now only by post or online

The Malta Transport Authority would like to notify everyone that as from Wednesday the 1st of April, driving license renewals will no longer be processed over the counter at the Licensing and Testing Offices in Floriana.

As from Wednesday the 1st of April renewals of driving licenses may only be affected either by post or online through www.licenzji-tas-sewqan.gov.mt [1].

The Malta Transport Authority sends out renewal notification notes 60 days before the expiry of a driving license in order to remind drivers that their license is about to expire. Drivers renewing their driving license by post must send the renewal notification back to the Malta Transport Authority. Renewed driving licenses will be dispatched by mail within 4 working weeks.

For further information kindly call on 8007 2393.

On 4th September I sent HSBC cheque no.123 to TM to renew my driving license. Todate I haven’t received the renewed license. My on-line bank records show that the cheque has not yet been cashed.
Please inform me without further delay of the position as my license has now expired.

I deposited all requisite documents for the renewal of my driving licence on 1st March and have still not received a renewed driving licence. I have been stopped by the traffic police. When is this going to be issued?

Today i received a second renewal Form for Driving Licence. However i had already received another on about 3 weeks ago which i filled together with Doctor’s Certificate and posted on 14th August together wiht cheque of 29.25 Euro. I tried to phone your Administration twice but two different clerks tried to put me on to somebody else and eventually cut off without anybody answering. I will appreciate if you have an explanation.

I had my driving licence renewed in November and unfortunately it got lost after I collected it from my registered address in Gozo. I lost all hope that it could be found, after I thoroughly searched for it for three whole days.
I kindly ask what do I have to do to obtain a copy of the renewed Licence?
