Speaking at the daily update on Wednesday, Supt. of Public Health Prof Charmaine Gauci, said that new 19 cases of Covid-19 had been registered in the past 24-hours, all are in good health, she said. Their ages range from 19 to 65.
The total of cases now stands at 188, with 2 patients in ITU, 1 of them is in a critical condition, and still only 2 patients recovered. Prof Gauci said.
When asked why only 2 have so far recovered, Prof Gauci explained that even if the person feels better, it is possible for the virus to remain active in the body for some time, meaning it could still be spread.
Therefore it is important to remain at home until authorities have confirmed the all-clear, she said
In respect of other patients, 14 are at St Thomas Hospital, there are 12 in IDU and all other patients are in isolation at their homes.
Prof Gauci also said that a decision as to whether spring hunting should be opened remains under consideration.
