All out-patient services and clinics are now located at the Barts Medical School building until further notice, the Gozo General Hospital has said.
The hospital has also suspended visiting hours within acute wards, this is in view of the developing Covid-19 situation, and to safeguard the health and safety of patients and staff.
It explained that allowances may be made for paediatrics, obstetrics and extraordinary situations – in these circumstances, Gozo General Hospital nursing staff will advise relatives accordingly.
“We understand that these measures, although temporary, may be difficult for patients and their loved ones, and we ask you for your understanding and cooperation,” the hospital said.
Family and friends are encouraged to stay in touch with patients through calls and online communication.
