San Lawrenz Mayor Noel Formosa, has said that there is “another milestone in the making for San Lawrenz, Dwejra and Gozo,” with the process underway to install a much needed CCTV system at Dwejra.
Mayor Formosa said that the matter was discussed during a recent meeting with officials from the Ministry for Gozo.
Trees at Dwejra had been vandalised on two occasions last month [1], which prompted the Council to ask the authorities to “seriously offer this area more security.”
The Council said at the time that it had”repeatedly drawn attention to these and other abuses that took place both during the day and more and more at night.”
In addition to the need of increasing Police presence, the Council also reiterated the need for CCTV surveillance.
Mayor Formosa thanked the Ministry for Gozo for its “commitment to help our Local Council to realise this important project.”
