People need blood all the time – even during a pandemic, so please consider donating blood to help keep up the necessary reserves, the National Blood Transfusion Service has said.
Therefore, the Service is inviting Gozitans to donate blood during a session this Tuesday the 16th of June, at the Blood Donation Centre in Xewkija, Gozo, between 1:00pm and 5:00pm (last registration until 5:00pm).
The donation centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.
The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.
The Service stressed that due to the Covid-19 situation all necessary measures are being taken to protect anyone who comes to donate blood, as well as the professionals who provide them with a service.
“Blood donors are informed that no swabbing tests are carried out at any stage of the blood donation,” the Service said.

The next opportunity to donate blood in Gozo after Tuesday, will be Sunday, the 21st of June.
