Archbishop visits the Monument dedicated to Pope Saint John Paul II

Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna, on the invitation of the JP2 Foundation, visited the monument of Saint John Paul II in Victoria, where he placed a wreath of flowers in the presence of the Foundation Committee Members.

The Archbishop, who was on his way to Ta’ Pinu, marked the occasion of the first centenary from the birth of this Polish Prelate of the Catholic Church and the 30th anniversary of the first Papal visit to the Maltese islands

Archbishop Scicluna prayed with the members present and signed the visitors book. Before his departure he gave a rosary to everyone present including children and the elderly.

From there he continued to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu, where he led an open-air Mass in front of the church, remembering that on the 22nd of June 1883, Our Lady spoke to the good virgin Karmni Grima from the titular painting by Perugino.
