Zminijietna – Voice of the Left, has appealed to the Government to consider taking back the management of the Gozo General Hospital and St Luke’s Hospital.
Zminijietna, in a statement said that, “the main interest of the private sector was not to offer a good quality service but to make profits.”
It added that, “the Auditor’s repor [1]t on the Vitals public hospital concessions concludes very clearly that there was a collusion between the Government and Vitals Global Healthcare.”
“The fact that no real investment has been made to improve the service given at Gozo General Hospital is a clear picture of a malfunctioning system,” said Zminijietna.
The Voice of the Left concluded by saying that, “several studies show that commercialisation of the health sector has led to a decline in the quality of the service, reduction in working conditions and an increase in Government spending.”

The running of Gozo Hospital by the British Firm “Bart’s” is doing a good job, I am not disputing Malta’s Hospitals, but as far as the General Hospital goes, Bart’s are doing a great job.

Since when has Bart’s been running Gozo General Hospital, they are only responsible for the Queen Mary teaching Hospital.
Steward run the main hospital don’t they?
