Infrastructure Malta has said that it’s nearing the final stages of the €1.6 million project to rebuild the above 100-metre Gozo ferry quay in Cirkewwa.
It explained that when completed it will have a safer deck for mariners and sea passengers, larger fender blocks, new mooring bollards and safety ladders, new underground potable and waste water connections for docked ferries and an improved lighting system.
The project on the old quay was started after parts of it deteriorated and Gozo ferries could no longer safely berth against it in certain weather conditions, Infrastructure Malta said.
