To mark the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Birth of Pope John Paul II and the 25th anniversary of broadcasting of Radju Marija Malta, the Auxiliary Bishop Monsignor Joe Galea Curmi has blessed a commemorative plaque at the entrance of Dar Radju Marija.
Dar Radju Marijain is located in Rabat, Malta, and the event took place in the presence of the President of the Association of Radju Marija Ms Iyon Chircop, the station’s Director Rev. Chev. Can. Antoine Borg who he is also the Chaplain of the JP2 Foundation, and the President of the JP2 Foundation Comm Carmel Zammit KCHS.
On the plaque is engraved the prayer written by Pope John Paul II to Radio Maria together with his signature and the image of Our Lady of Radio Maria and Pope John Paul II.
After the inauguration and blessing of the plaque, the young Gozitan tenor from Ghajnsielem Angelo Muscat, sang a cappella the Ave Maria and later presented the original scroll of the ‘Missa Totus Tuus,’ which he had composed himself, to the JP2 Foundation.
A copy was presented to Bishop Galea Curmi. During the inauguration speeches, the connection that existed between the Polish Holy Father and Radio Maria, which broadcast in various languages around the world, became clear.
The statutes of the JP2 Foundation explicitly state its collaboration with other institutions, one of which is Radju Marija.
