A further two people have died while being positive with Covid-19, the Health Ministry has said. This brings the number of lives lost to the virus up to 97.
In a statement on Saturday evening, the Ministry said that a 79-year-old woman, who tested positive for Covid-19 on the 7th of November, passed earlier today at Casa Pinto in Qormi.
The second is an 88-year-old woman who was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on the 8th of November, passed away earlier today at Mater Dei Hospital.
The Ministry of Health, while offering its condolences to the relatives of the families, once again appealed to the public to continue to follow the preventive measures – wearing masks, social distancing and hand hygiene.
