The Electoral Commissioners advise that they will be in attendance at their Office, Evans Building, St. Elmo Square, Valletta, and at the Identity Cards Office, 28A St.Francis Square, Victoria, Gozo, from 9.00am to 1.00pm and from 3.00 pm. to 7.00pm on Saturday the 2nd, Sunday the 3rd and Monday the 4th of May, 2009, to receive nominations by candidates for the forthcoming election for Members of the European Parliament and for the Local Councils’ Elections.
Candidates are reminded that they must produce their identity card. If the nomination form is presented by the candidate’s representative, the latter must present a power of attorney authenticated by a notary public.
Application forms for prospective candidates may be obtained from the Office of the Electoral Commission, Valletta, from the Identity Cards Office, Victoria, Gozo and, for Local Councils elections, from Local Councils’ Offices as from today and during nomination days.
Objections to nominations will be received by the Commissioners at the Office of the Electoral Commission, Valletta, and at the Identity Cards Office, Rabat, Gozo, during the days and office hours established for nominations as well as on Tuesday the 5th and Wednesday the 6th of May, 2009, during the same office hours.
