Photographic journey through Gozo’s history now available on new website

Ministry for Gozo launches two new online servicesThe Ministry for Gozo has recently launched two new online services – one is a photographic journey through Gozo’s history and the other, an online helpdesk for the public:

The – Gozo Album [1] – with 2,366 images offers a photographic journey through Gozo’s past. It is also intended as an important educational tool for researchers and the general public, who can view buildings, costumes and traditions of times gone by.

This project is a joint initiative between the Gozo Section of the National Archives of Malta and the Ministry for Gozo.

The Ministry said that this new initiative will enable the photographic collection to become easily accessible to the public.

The Gozo Section of the National Archives of Malta was inaugurated on the 24th of November 1989. Since then, these archives have amassed significant amounts of important records relating to Gozo’s history starting from 1560 till the present day. The mission of the Archives is to preserve and make accessible records pertaining to our past.

The other new service available is an online helpdesk [2] – which allows citizens to request assistance from the Ministry for Gozo through an online ticketing system.

Also within this service there is information available on how to apply for grants/subsidies across many different subjects, including study, fitness and sports, health and the elderly and assistance for Gozo businesses, to name but a few.
