The National Blood Transfusion Service has thanked everyone who donated blood during December, including those who donated for the first time.
Meanwhile the Service would like to encourage donors in Gozo to make a New Year’s resolution to become a regular blood donor, and to those who have not yet done so, to please, if possible, commit to donating their blood this year.
The next session at the Donation Centre in Xewkija, will be on Tuesday, the 11th of January from 1pm to 5pm (last registration until 5pm).
The donation centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.
The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.
Anyone currently waiting to take a Covid-19 test, or who has had the test and is waiting for the result, cannot give blood.
The Service stressed that due to the Covid-19 situation all necessary measures are being taken to protect anyone who comes to donate blood, as well as the professionals who provide them with a service.
The next blood donation session in Gozo will be on Tuesday, the 12th of January, between 1pm and 5pm.
