GMA Championship 2021 once again dominated by Steve Xuereb

Steve Xuereb dominated Sunday’s fourth round of the Gozo Motocross Association Championship 2021, held at Ta’ Xhajma Motocross Track, which saw riders of all classes putting on an incredible competitive show.

In Class A, Steve Xuereb won the day as he achieved the maximum points possible. Mario Cauchi, came in second place. He was closely followed by David Dimech, who was absent for the last couple of races due to an injury.

Class B was just as challenging with Jorn stellini and Robert Spiteri striving hard for first place. In fact, Stellini who is at the top of the Class B Championship list, achieved full points and was followed by Spiteri in second place.

In Class C, the young Mark Camilleri managed to overcome Jurgen Attard who holds first place in the championship. Camilleri won first place of the day while Maltese rider William Sant, came in third.

Rider Luke Caruana in Class D, achieved first place. He was followed by the young Maltese rider, Mark Tanti in second place. Scott Donovan, GMA training coach ended the race in third place.For the first time at Ta Xhajma Motocross Track, kid’s races took place featuring 4 girls and 4 boys between the age of 6 and 10. Trophies and mementos were given to the children, who enjoyed themselves participating in this adventurous sport.

The GMA said that their enthusiasm and excitement was evident and the Association hopes to see more young riders in the future.

President Frank Xuereb presented trophies to the winners as did Mr Anthony Fenech who sponsored the event with Service with a Smile on Time.

The next event will be a Fun Race, while the fifth round of the Championship will take place on Sunday, the 7th of February 2021. Races start at 1:00pm.
