The Malta Police Association has said that it is concerned about the number of incidents taking place in Paceville, as well as in various other entertainment venues and localities in Malta and Gozo.
Writing on Facebook, the MPA questioned how it is possible, when, bars, clubs, discotheques and nightclubs should be closed, in accordance with the provisions of Legal Notices 336/2020 [1] and 478/2020 [2], there are incidents being reported, or even that have started within similar establishments.
Members of the Police Force are having to deal directly with people who are causing this trouble to the detriment of their health, the Association said. It also pointed out that “no one knows who these people are and they are not part of any bubble.”
The MPA went on to say that it is “closely monitoring these developments and does not rule out any action in order to safeguard the personal health of its members.”
The MPA concluded by urging the Authorities concerned to “ensure that the establishments that are supposed to be closed, actually are.”

Is it not the MPA member’s, ie police officers, job to enforce the law and close the establishments down!
Members of the Police Force are having to deal directly with people who are causing this trouble, well is that not their job?
