“No one was caught breaking the law, breaching Covid-19 restrictions,” on Gozo during the 802 inspections carried out on accommodation establishments between the 11th and 14th of February,, the Tourism Ministry has said in a statement.
There are 1,255 establishments which are licensed with the Malta Tourism Authority, meaning that 65% of the licensed accommodation places in Gozo have been inspected, it said.
At the same time, 475 inspections were carried out in restaurants and establishments across Gozo, “where no one was found to be breaking the law,” it said.
During the same days, 1,885 inspections were carried out in Malta, two commercial establishments were caught open after the period established by law, while another is being investigated by the Police.
The Ministry added during the first 2 weeks of February, more than 6,000 inspections were carried out by the Malta Tourism Authority enforcement at a number of commercial establishments and accommodation in Malta and Gozo.
