Strengthen the cooperation between the Malta Football Association and our educational institutions was the subject of talks held between Minister for Education Justyne Caruana and President of the Malta Football Association Bjorn Vassallo.
The Education Ministry said that the aim is for children to get more involved in a sporting activity, and increasing sports awareness among children leading to more quality sports.
Talks continued after the Malta Football Association presented its strategy for the years 2020-2024 to the Prime Minister a few days ago.
Education Minister Justyne Caruana has been tasked with the education-related aspects of the strategy.
During the talks, Minister Caruana said, “we want to encourage children to live a healthy life through physical activity, leading them above all to live a better life but also to participate more in sports, including football.”
These talks will lead to the signing of a memorandum of understanding to increase sport-related programmes with the aim of having more children who regularly play football and participate in more physical activities as part of the strategy to address obesity in our children.
