Nationalist Party and Opposition Leader Bernard Grech has been in Gozo this weekend and on Friday evening he visited a number of families in Nadur who have their homes on plots that are covered by the new land registrations.
The Opposition Leader said that Robert Abela also paid a visit to this area a year ago and promised the families that he would find a solution, however still nothing has been done. “These families need reassurance,” said Grech.
Bernard Grech said that he promised them that he would continue to follow this case closely.
On Sunday morning, the Opposition Leader announced that “if the Government continues to do nothing, a Nationalist Government led by me will give them a solution through a serious investigation, the registration will be withdrawn and if necessary amendments would be made to the law.”
Bernard Grech was speaking this morning during a political activity held in Independence Square, Victoria.
He said that the Nationalist Party will be talking about how to create good quality and well-paid work in Gozo for Gozitans. “And because the Nationalist Party has always had and still has Gozo at the centre of its work, in recent days the renewal of the Party is also continuing on this island.”
He went on to say that the Nationalist Party considers Gozo an island region and therefore, that work is underway on the report he requested on the socio-economic situation of this island, with work coordinated by the Regional Committee and from the Deputies together with the Party Candidates in Gozo.
Grech also announced that a Nationalist Party led Government, in one of its first initiatives, would see to it that where possible, Gozitan workers in Malta are given at least two days a week teleworking or working from Gozo itself.
