The Government is not informing the public about the Malta-Gozo tunnel, the Nationalist Party has said in a statement on Wednesday.
Opposition Spokesperson for Gozo Chris Said, remarked that during a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for Gozo Affairs, a number of NGOs that attended gave a presentation on the accessibility of Gozo.
He said that they expressed their views on the Gozo tunnel and raised several pertinent questions that to date, the Government has not yet responded to.
Dr Said went on to say that the NGOs “even went so far as to accuse Infrastructure Malta, the Government entity responsible for the tunnel project, of lying in what it is saying about the tunnel.”
“The discussions that took place within the Parliamentary Committee also showed just how much there is a need for more public dialogue on Gozo and issues related to it, such as that of the tunnel,” he said.
“People and in particular Gozitans deserve to be informed and to participate in the decisions that affect them,” said Dr Said.

You don’t hear a thing about the tunnel cause there is nothing to it . Who is willing to put up billions of Euros not millions as we were told for this little Island . This pet project don’t make any sense cause Malta can’t afford it and it will continue to speed the ruin Gozo more than we are seeing now with concrete everywhere.
