There is still time to enter the Gozo Live Award writing competition, which closes on the 23rd of April.
The organisers said that all students at any school in Gozo are eligible to enter and the themes for this year are; fruit or vegetables, or a piece of writing set somewhere in Gozo.
Students are asked to write an essay, a story, a poem or a play on one of these themes. The entry needs to be different to the usual; it must be original and creative. Winners will be those who look at the subject in a “fresh and different way.”
There are also a prizes for a fantasy story and for a poem which is not on one of the themes, but again, the organisers ask that “you be as original as possible.”
The writing must be the work of the student, but parents and teachers can assist in sending in the entry either by email to gozolive2018@gmail.com [1] or by post to 21A Gnien Xibla, Xaghra. Full rules can be obtained by emailing as above.
The organisers said that “there are many generous prizes available so get to work as soon as possible. We have received many entries so far but would like to see many more.”
