Colour, youthful enthusiasm and a host of events, many involving children, greeted President George Abela when he officially opened this year’s Lejlet Lapsi, Notte Gozitana in Victoria, Gozo.
The President was greeted at Mgarr Harbour’s new terminal by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono and then taken to some of the events that are making Gozo such a magnet for locals and foreign visitors alike this weekend.
The stops during the morning included the Sports Complex for the annual Skolasport event, Saint Francis Square for a display by the Sbandieratori della Contrade della Cerva of Venice, the Gozo Ministry, the Bishop’s Curia, Independence Square and the Cathedral Square at the Citadel.
President George Abela was shown around several exhibitions and visited with children painting and playing music.
