There were 3 new Covid-19 case recorded in the past 24-hours from 1,492 swab tests – making a 0.20% positivity rate. There were 5 recoveries and 1 death registered.
During the last 24 hours a 77-year old woman has died at Mater Dei Hospital, the authorities said. The first Covid-19 related death since the 7th of May.
Active cases are now down to just 69 in Malta and Gozo. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic in Malta is 30,509 and there have been 30,022 recoveries and 418 deaths.
914,069 swab tests have been taken since the start of the pandemic in Malta.
482,577 doses of the vaccine have been administered up until yesterday. 183,556 are now fully vaccinated, while 115,455 are partly vaccinated.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control [1] has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 20th of May, it shows that the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 30,484 and the number of deaths showing is 417. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is now 25.26.
The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.
