GRDA Bachelor of Commerce scholarship offered at the Gozo Campus

A Scholarship scheme has been launched by the Gozo Regional Development Authority for a Bachelor of Commerce course at the University of Malta – Gozo Campus.

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri was present for the launch and explained that all this was spurred on by the Gozo Regional Development Authority, in collaboration with the University of Malta and is aimed at students who want to continue to improve their academic talents.

Minister Camilleri said how in a world that is changing and becoming more globalised, it is important to be competitive and offer the best human talent by having at the disposal of the industry people who are academically qualified, creative and open to change.

The Chief Executive of the Authority Mario Borg explained how this initiative will be covering no less than 90% of the costs related to the course. “The course is being offered on a part-time basis so that each participant finds a balance between work life, family, and the studies necessary to complete this course leading to a Bachelor of Commerce.”

He added that this is one of the first initiatives that the Authority is embarking on after earlier publishing a consultation document to draw up the strategy for Gozo over the coming years.

Professor Frank Bezzina, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy praised the collaboration between the University of Malta and the Gozo Regional Development Authority for the development of this scheme, while adding that he hoped that this collaboration would be further strengthened in the coming years.

Applications for this course will be accepted from the University until Tuesday, the 24th of August. Terms and conditions apply.
