National Acquatic Championship for Special Olympics Malta

On Sunday, the 21st of June 2009 between 9.00am and 12.30pm at the national pool in tal-Qroqq, Special Olympics Malta in collaboration with the Kunsill Malta Ghall-iSport and supported by the Vodafone Malta Foundation will be holding their first ever National Aquatic Championship.

This competition will see the participation of Special Olympics Malta Athletes together with the Malta National Swimming Team, Sirens Aquatic Club, and other local aquatic clubs. Athletes will be competing for their best personal timings in this first unified swimming event in Malta.

The Vodafone Malta Foundation Special Olympics Team have for the past years held unified football tournaments and are very glad that this has now also expanded into an aquatics competition. Such unified events help to promote inclusion with athletes of different abilities, something which is always on top of the Special Olympics Malta agenda.

This championship will also serve as a competition preparation for the Special Olympics Malta athletes prior the European Special Olympics Swimming Competition to be held this October in Spain.

This event is being organized in collaboration and support of the Kunsill Malti Ghall-Isport and the Vodafone Malta Foundation. Clyde Puli and other distinguished Members will be presenting medals to winners and participants, together with Special Olympics Malta’s ambassador Ivan Grech from Winter Moods.

Everyone is invited to attend.
