Health Chris Fearne has presided over a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chamber of Pharmacists, which will see pharmacies that are scheduled to open on Sundays and Public Holidays in the morning, will also start opening in the afternoons.
This will come into effect as from Sunday, the 6th of February, scheduled rota pharmacies will also open between 4 and 7pm on those days.
Dr Fearne advised that new services are also to be introduced, however all present services will continue, including that the public can collect their medicines from the pharmacy of their choice.
One such service, will by a `medicine use review’ where every POYC patient would undergo a personalised 6-monthly evaluation by the pharmacist, so as to ensure medicines are being used correctly and will lead to less wastage, the Health Minister said.
