A copy of the book – Orchids of the Maltese Islands [1] – has been presented to Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri by the author Stephen Mifsud.
The book is A Descriptive Guide – specialising in Gozo’s population of Orchids, with stunning photography that walks the reader through the different species of Orchids [2] that exist (or used to exist) in Malta, with information on their status, and descriptions of the form, habitat, distribution, and conservation status of every species.
Mifsud is a botanist and orchid expert, who works at Eco-Gozo within the Ministry for Gozo.
This book was part-financed by Eco-Gozo “in order to convey the knowledge and beauty of the Maltese flora to the public and thus enhance the appreciation and protection of plants,” the Minister said.
