A celebration commemorating the 100th anniversary of the death of Karmni Grima, the maiden who heard the call of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu, was commemorated on Saturday with a Pilgrimage from the Gharb Basilica to Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary.
During this Walk of Faith, a stop was made in front of the House of Karmni Grima where was a reading was given of the passage on Karmni’s death written by Bishop Nikol G. Cauchi, bouquets of flowers were also placed there by the Gharb Council, the Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary and the Parishes of Gharb, Fontana, Kercem, Xaghra, Xewkija and Zebbug, who were present.
The Pilgrimage concluded in Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, where the remains of Karmni Grima lie, with a Pontifical Mass led by Gozo Bishop Anton Teuma.
