The Gieh il-Belt Victoria (the City Award) was presented to a number of distinguished citizens of the city during a commemorative ceremony for Victoria Day held on Saturday in Independence Square.
Mayor of Victoria Josef Schembri, said that the award was a sign of official recognition of their valuable contribution to society and as a thank you for their hard work for the city.
The honour was conferred by the Mayor to:
– Mr Lorrie Saliba;
– Mr George Vella Muskat;
– Mons. Felix Tabone;
– Mons. Joseph Gauci;
– Mr Victor Camilleri;
– Ms Lina Gauci;
– Mr Patrick Grima;
– Av. Samuel Azzopardi.
