A 29-year old man from Munxar, died this morning after falling at a construction site in Munxar.
Police said that the accident happened at around 11.30am in Triq Damasku when the man fell from a height of about four storeys.
Members of the Civil Protection Department were called to the site to assist, however the man was certified dead at the scene by a medical team.
A Magisterial Inquiry has been opened by Magistrate Brigitte Sultana. Police investigations are ongoing.
The man has been identified as Luca Curmi who worked with Heritage Malta and in a message the agency said that it “mourns the tragic death of one of its own – 29-year-old Luca Curmi, who worked as a technician within the Manufacturing and Upkeep Section and who was off duty when he passed away.”
“Luca, seen here at work at the Gran Castello Historic House in his native Gozo, will be remembered as a hard-working and outgoing employee, always ready to assist and give a helping hand to his colleagues,” Heritage Malta said.
“Our deepest condolences to Luca’s nearest and dearest.”
