Work continues on the Park & Ride project at Xewkija where at present the beams are being delivered, Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri has said.
This will be followed by the roof over the parking area, which will also serve as a green roof providing an outdoor recreational facility accessible to the public.
Minister Camilleri added that later this month work will also start on services such as light, water and machinery.
The Gozo Minister has said previously [1] that the work would be completed this year and is expected to be operational from the first quarter to 2024.
When the project was first announced, the Gozo Minister explained that it would be a parking space for 300 vehicles with dedicated spaces for charging electric vehicles and pedelecs and include a terminal building for electric buses.

Bit far out of town for a public recreational facility, rather defeats the object if you have to drive there to use it!
