Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri has said that work on the Xewkija Park & Ride “continues at a healthy pace so that it will be completed this year.”
Writing on Facebook, the Gozo Minister added that after the excavation, foundations and piling were done, and the columns are being placed for the roofing which will serve to shelter vehicles while the surface of the roof becomes an accessible garden.
Minister Camilleri said that this Hub will be the main centre for the operation of electric buses that provide free service to the Port of Mgarr, “while in the future I am convinced that it will serve for other opportunities in the way of travelling.”
Earlier this year, in reply to a Parliamentary Question by Opposition MP Chris Said, the Gozo Minister said that the Park & Ride is “expected to be operational from the first quarter of 2024.”
