New centre means all Gozitans will be vaccinated in Gozo – Minister

Minister for Health Chris Fearne has said that the new vaccination centre in Victoria [1] will make it possible for “all Gozitan citizens to be vaccinated in Gozo itself.”

He urged all residents of Gozo who have received an invitation letter to have the Covid-19 vaccine in Malta, to call the 145 helpline for another appointment in Gozo.

The Health Minister was speaking during a visit to the Gozo Conference & Expo Centre, which with the joint work of the Ministry for Gozo and the Ministry of Health, was converted into a major vaccination centre in Gozo. Dr Fearne was accompanied on the visit by Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri.

The Health Minister went on to say that “the roll-out of the vaccine is progressing well, 60 to 79-year olds are currently receiving the vaccine and at the same time the vaccination of essential workers is also continuing.”

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri explained that, the centre has been fully equipped, including 6 vaccination booths and over 40, spaced out seats in the waiting area, with allocated parking available in the nearby football ground.”

“An extensive and expedited vaccination programme is now underway for all Gozitans,” the Minister said. Adding that vaccination is crucial in winning the fight against the pandemic.

I am 71 years old, still waiting for the appointment letter, which was announced to be sent out 2 weeks ago! On #145 there is absolutely no information about vaccination appointments.
