Earlier this month was the 123rd anniversary of Mons Giovanni Andrea Vella’s birth, from Zebbug, Gozo.

To mark this occasion, and for the fact that the Mons Giovanni Andrea Vella Primary School in Zebbug was re-named in honour of this distinguished person, a short ceremony took place. The pupils read a short biography of Mons G. Andrea Vella and a poem written by Can Geoffrey G Attard. The school choir sang Innu liz-Zebbug, which was followed by the inauguration of a new bust in honour of the occasion.

This activity was attended by the Principal of the Gozo College, Dr Sean Zammit, the Mayor of Zebbug, Dr Marlene Cini, the Archpriest, Can John Sultana, relatives of Mons. G. Andrea Vella, together with the pupils, staff and friends.
