The Life Network foundation, in collaboration with I See Life and Doctors for Life, organised this afternoon’s march for life titled “Inti tista Ssalvani.”

The main reason behind the march is to make a united and strong appeal to the Government to change its proposed amendments to the law which the organisers said “are going to introduce abortion in Malta.”

The march started off on Sunday afternoon with a peaceful walk, headed by the Bishops of Malta and Gozo together with the coalition coordinated by the Life Network Foundation in collaboration with I See Life and Doctors For Life.

The peaceful march got underway from the Castille and proceeded through Republic Street, where thousands of people answered the call for action to unite as one voice against the introduction of abortion in Malta.

The organisers said that the 20,000 strong crowd made its way up to the law courts to allow for the second part of the march to start off with a series of speeches and broadcast interventions by the following speakers:

Prof. Giovanni Bonello, Judge of the European Court of Human Rights 1998-2004

Prof. George Buttigieg, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Carol Nolan, Irish MP

Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, President Malta 2014-2019

Dr Miriam Sciberras, Chairperson Life Network Foundation

Maria Formosa, University Student – I See Life

Dr Nicola Micallef Stafrace, Specialist Family Medicine

Dr Veronica Bartolo, Paediatrician

The March concluded with the Maltese National Anthem and an appeal to the people that the fight for life will not stop with this event.
