Steep rise in gas price, fuel prices down slightly

The Infrastructure Ministry announced this evening a steep rise in LPG gas prices. The review in prices came after the government removed the last of the subsidies, which had gradually been taking place over the last year.
The revised gas prices are as follows:

When Malta was in the process of joining the EU I said that it was a bad idea. I expressed that opinion from the point of view of someone who lived in a country that had already gone through the process. I was criticized at the time for expressing that opinion, but perhaps now people are beginning to see the reality of EU membership.
A 50% increase in the price of bottled gas sounds bad enough until you realise that the actual increase since March is 125%! Welcome to EU membership.
