The Local Enforcement Systems Agency is now able to enforce parking permits that have been issued by Local Councils.

This has been made possible through the publication of a new Legal Notice. It also gives the right to Local Councils to issue tow signs to enable applicants to display them after getting a permit.

The LESA is calling on the public to register on its website and provide their contact number to avoid having their vehicle towed when parked in tow-zone designated areas.

To register the number, first Register or Log in to your account – Go to ‘Manage your account’ – Scroll down, and select the appropriate check-box.

From time to time someone should print traffic laws as meaning if double yellow lines, one yellow line, yellow boxes, small yellow boxes, if I can park in front of my own No parking garage door when I go home for a coffee, if my plumber fixing up my toilet can park in front of my no parking garage door and not get towed because he did not register his phone no with LESA. So on and do forth. These have to be easy to understand without using bombastic legal wordings, and published on line for foreigners who do not understand well the English language to be able to translate. Such material should be linked to ‘Welcome to Malta’ pages, ‘before you go to Malta’ adverts and so on and so forth.
