The Gozo University Group has said that following yesterday’s news that the fast ferry services would not be available due to storm damage of the Valletta terminal, it was expected that the X300 would be in operation.

However, this morning, Gozitan students could not even rely on this service – a service, the GUG said, which is needed even more, particularly today – the commencement of Semester 2.

“It meant that many students were left at the bus stop, missing their morning lecture and resulting in the use of either the X1 or private taxi services,” the organisation said.

The GUG pointed out that this bus route had been operational during exam season, when the fast ferry could not work on occasion due to bad weather.

The Gozo University Group concluded by saying, “it is a shame that Gozitan students are being treated in such a manner again and again. We are not second class students.”
