“The Nationalist Party is committed to offering serious opportunities for Gozitans and not cheap labour opportunities,” said Nationalist Party Leader Bernard Grech.
He added that, “today it is evident that Maltese and Gozitan workers do not only want decent wages, but also good conditions in the workplace, as much as in the society in which they live.”
The Leader of the Opposition was speaking during the Round-Table Conference held in Gozo as part of the activities that the Party is organising to mark Labour Day with the theme “We Give Strength to the Workers.”
Grech went on to say that the Party led by him believes that everyone can contribute, since everyone lives different realities. “The Party also believes that the way forward to seize every opportunity for this country is to consult around the table.”
He also referred to the unsustainable development in Gozo, which, he said, “is destroying everything that attracts tourists to this island.”
The PN Leader stressed that, “instead, Gozo needs more environmental protection and regional leadership.”
The Round-Table Conference saw the participation of several entities and constituted bodies, as well as the Spokesperson of the Nationalist Party for Gozo Alex Borg, the Spokesperson on Maritime Affairs and Employment, Ivan Castillo and the President of the Regional Committee of the Nationalist Party in Gozo Paul Buttigieg. Also present was the Secretary General of the Nationalist Party Michael Piccinino.
