Malta Public Transport also announced the commencement of the summer service starting from Sunday, the 11th of June. This service will feature more frequent buses on busy routes, and popular beaches.
On Gozo, Route 322 between Mgarr and Marsalforn, will increase its frequency to 45 minutes on weekdays and weekends during peak hours. Tallinja Direct Route TD30 between Mgarr and Xlendi in Gozo and Route TD31 between Mgarr and Marsalforn will start operating.
On Malta, Route 43 and Route X1A will continue to operate until the end of the scholastic year.
Route 42 between Valletta and Cirkewwa will increase its frequency in the “coming weeks” to 20 minutes during peak times.
MPT said that the bus stop schedules across the islands are currently being updated. In the meantime passengers are reminded that real-time bus arrival information is available on the free Tallinja App, as well as through the QR codes on each bus stop.
A record 5.8 million passengers travelled by bus across the Maltese islands during May, Malta Public Transport said. This new record surpasses the previous milestone of 5.7 million passengers recorded in August 2019.

All very well adding buses to get to Xlendi and Marsalforn but what about the routes used by incoming tourists in the first place, the Airport Xpress routes X1,X2,X3 and X4 which are always full.
Only last week there were 30 or more standing on the X1 by the time it got to Kennedy stop, so packed that one lady fainted and the bus had to be stopped.
Stop allowing them to be used as commuter routes and only allow disembarkation at the Airport or their main destinations, then you cater for the millions of tourists. They do not even cater for luggage!
That is not right. The only new bus to Xlendi. The bus from the ferry. When going to Xlendi from Victoria. You get on bus the driver packs as many people that he can get on.
