Early on Sunday morning, the Police assisted by members of the Detention Services continued inspections in Malta in connection with irregular immigration.
The Police said that during these inspections at an accommodation establishment in Bugibba more than 50 individuals were checked, 17 of which were arrested and their return process was “immediately initiated.”
The group of 17 include people from Syria, Pakistan, Egypt and Ghana, Police said.
The persons arrested were taken to a Detention Centre, where an additional 37 individuals who were found during inspections that were carried out in other localities over the last days are also being kept.

Brilliant work. Why can’t the UK authorities be so efficient?
Because the UK authorities do not know where the illegals have come from as they destroy their documents, so can not return them. Many of the illegals here arrived legally but then lost jobs or overstayed visas etc. So can still be identified.
